Miitomo is great, but these 7 Tricks would perfect it!

It’s safe to say that Miitomo has taken social media by storm. Everywhere I look, people are posting Miifotos, talking about it, answering questions and telling their friends. And it’s totally obvious why! Miitomo is the perfect simple Social Network. Learn more about your friends in a silly, not entirely-awkward way! But…it COULD be better. There’s a few small kinks that I have, but I think I’ve come up with a few work around.

WHY CAN’T WE BE FRIENDS?!

Bringing all my friends from Facebook and Twitter is fantastic, and I love seeing a new friend request pop up. And seeing friends of friends pop up is great too! However… I’ve noticed that it’s somewhat difficult to find my Facebook and Twitter friends in the suggested friends. There’s a few work-arounds for this, such as separating the suggested into “Facebook” “Twitter” and “You May Know” categories. Another option would maybe be a “Not Now” button on the suggested friends list. This would do something like dismiss the mutual friend notification for a while, but not completely ignore it.

Friends should be Friendly! I give gifts to my friends!
After playing Miitomo Drop, I’ve got SO many cat sweaters and skirts. Now, I’m a dashing gentleman. But I can’t really pull off a skirt. So why can’t I give my friends any duplicates or items that I don’t want? A simple gifting option or even a trading option would make having extras or items you don’t want a lot more tolerable, perhaps making it impossible to trade or gift an item if they already have that item.

THERE’S TOO MUCH! MAKE IT STOP!

I, like many others, set up push notifications when I set up Miitomo. This has led to basically non-stop notifications. A way to set up that you only receive notifications from certain friends to limit the amount of notifications. Perhaps with a “Best Friends” feature. If you and another friend both select to be “Best Friends” then perhaps that unlocks the ability to send gifts, select to receive notifications from them, and possibly other features.

JUST LET ME TALK TO MY FRIENDS!

Such as…a Direct Messaging system. With Miitomo truly feeling like a social networking platform, perhaps now would be the best time to bring something like Swapnote back? Perhaps only with Twitter and Facebook-matched friends, the risk of strangers is a bit lessened. Bring back Nikki, bring back SwapNote, and introduce a proper messaging system.

This game seems to have a lack of..games.

Though Miitomo Drop is a ton of fun, it gets a bit old after a bit. Introducing a few new small new minigames would be a great introduction. Perhaps bring the Badge Catcher from Badge Arcade, a pinball style game, or maybe even a simple multiplayer game. What would these different games get you? Well…

CUSTOMIZE MII CAPTAIN!

Miitomo has a ton of customization options, and is all about showing your personality and style to the world. What if you could add a customized room to that? Maybe the games above could nab you sweet things like wallpapers, carpets, furniture sets, or even potentially special themed music. It would make visiting friends into an even more unique experience.

I just can’t stop dying!

One of the biggest complaints I have with Miitomo is that my battery won’t stop dying! While I am using the app a bit more than normal, I’ve heard similar from multiple other users that the battery just can’t last while Miitomo is running, even while in the background. While there is a Power Saver mode, it does cut performance pretty hard. A bit more optimization might not be the worst thing to happen to Miitomo.

While all of these are just my personal wish list I honestly feel like they’d make Miitomo a more complete game. What features would YOU like to see in Miitomo?
