Taking the kids to school in Type-0

Pros:
  • Combat is a ton of fun.
  • 14 playable characters make for a lot of variety during missions.
  • Compelling and easy to follow plot.
Cons:
  • Lacking character development and annoying English voice over.
  • Some aspects of the game are not explained very well.
  • Short missions.
  • Even in HD, this game was clearly built as a portable title (that motion blur…)

Nintendo Details Upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS Games and a Wide Range of New amiibo

There has been a rumor flying around there would be a Nintendo Direct on April 1st but since the day is notorious for bad video game jokes, everyone passed it up. When Nintendo came around and announced that there was indeed a ND on that day everyone flipped their jimmies. And boy was this direct was a big one.

Here some quick points on what was covered in the direct:

  • Amiibo news galore. We got a hard date for the release of wave 4 amiibo for May 29th along with the release of some Splatoon amiibo.
  • Mario 30th anniversary is upon us.
  • MK8 Animal Crossing pack released on April 23 along with new amiibo suits and the introduction of 200cc!

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae Impressions [Guest Writer!]

Today we’ve got a guest writer, Jon Edicola from alocidegaming!

Eight years, ten months, and seven days. That is the cumulative time that has elapsed since Square Enix announced what is now known as Final Fantasy XV and when we got something playable.

A lot has happened around Square Enix in that span of time: an entire console generation passed, Final Fantasy XIV failed, Final Fantasy XIV was resurrected, rumors surrounding the death of XV were more present than the game itself… Eight plus years is an obnoxiously long development schedule, yet here we are– FINALLY with something tangible to touch and play.

Was the wait worth it? The pragmatic side of my brain says no. I can only think of one other title that has ever gotten ‘stuck’ in such a hellish development cycle, and we all know how that turned out. However, the reasonable side of my brain is being completely drowned out by the excitement of a new mainline Final Fantasy title not starring Lightning and crew.
