This Heist will be Rewarding, Prepare for Boarding in SteamWorld Heist!

Pros:
  • A truly unique story with tons of hilarious characters.
  • Great turn-based gunplay that even those that fear turn-based will love.
  • A fantastic soundtrack by the bots of Steam Powered Giraffe.
  • You can wear a cat in a hat. IN a hat! It's amazing!
Cons:
  • Controls can be confusing at first, but you quickly adjust. Providing the option to switch the D-Pad with the Control Stick controls would alleviate this!
  • The 3DS screen, even on the New 3DS simply can't project just how amazing the art is. I can't wait to see this on other systems.

A fan favorite, Earth Defense Force is always a bit…off the rails. The new titles don’t disappoint either, but I’ll let the press release talk for itself:

Torrance, Calif. – December 8, 2015 – XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today announced that the newest additions to D3 Publisher’s renowned third-person action series, Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space for the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system and Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, are now available across North America for retail and digital purchase at an MSRP of $29.99 and $49.99 respectively.

First screenshots from Blood and Wine, the second expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

CD PROJEKT RED, right off the heels of their wins at The Game Awards, have announced the second expansion for Witcher 3, and man. They’ve started it out strong.

CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher series of games, have just released the first two screenshots from the upcoming expansion to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Blood and Wine. The expansion is slated for release in the first half of 2016. The studio has also announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has collectively garnered over 300 awards, including a Golden Joystick for Ultimate Game of the Year, and The Game Award for Game of the Year.

“2015 is almost behind us. It’s a great year for open world games and a fantastic time for The Witcher. A year of intense work for the team and a time filled with many personal victories for everyone involved in a project that received more than 300 awards so far (wow!). We overcame so many obstacles to get to this point, and we’ve always done it with gamers rooting for us. It’s your year, too!,” said Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Game Director, CD PROJEKT RED. “Blood and Wine, the second expansion for The Witcher 3, is on the horizon. It’s a massive new land to explore, visually unlike anything you saw in Wild Hunt or Hearts of Stone, and it too is brimming with stories we want you to discover,” adds Tomaszkiewicz.

Blood and Wine is a 20-hour tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint, will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret. Currently, Blood and Wine is available for purchase as part of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Expansion Pass — more information available here.

IRVINE, Calif. – Dec. 5, 2015 – The 1980s in Japan were defined by unprecedented amounts of decadent overindulgence – and nothing was out of greed’s reach, especially in Kamurocho. A chilly but electric Tokyo in December 1988 is the backdrop for Kazuma Kiryu’s ascension into the ranks of the Yakuza – the name given to members of notorious crime organizations. And with Yakuza 0, newcomers to SEGA® of America, Inc.’s Yakuza series will be able to get in on the ground floor, with the game’s standalone, story-driven action that focuses on navigating the seedy underworld of Japan with series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, and for the first time in a numbered title, players will be able to play as long-time NPC, Goro Majima – the Mad Dog of Shimano. Available on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the game will be localized and released as physical and digital versions in the Americas.

Psychonauts 2 to be Crowd-Funded, coming soon!

Standing on stage the Video Game Awards in Los Angeles tonight, Double Fine Productions President and CEO Tim Schafer announced the launch of a Psychonauts 2 crowdfunding campaign on new games crowdfunding site Fig.

“Our fans constantly ask us to make Psychonauts 2, and often we’ve talked about doing it” said Schafer “The problem is that through traditional means we’ve never been able to raise a budget high enough to do it justice. When we crowdfunded Broken Age in 2012 and broke all the records with the amount we raised, it really showed me the power of our community, and it made me think… maybe we can do this, maybe we could make Psychonauts 2 this way!”
