[RUMOR] Sonic Mania may include animated cutscenes!

The good folks over at Sonic Stadium are reporting that Sonic Mania MAY have animated cutscenes.
To quote them:

Among many speculations, fans have suggested that Sonic Mania may include animations akin to those book-ending Sonic CD. Last week, our eagle-eyed SSMB members spotted this WIP short animation above, posted and then quickly removed from the tumblr of Max Collins. The scene depicts an exchange between Sonic and one of the yet-to-be-seen Hard Boiled Heavies (the character having only been partially revealed in Mirage Saloon’s background). Collins resume includes work for Studio Yotta and Cartoon Network, leading to the postulation that they may have been recruited to develop animations for the game.

They go on to state that it might be a rumor, but they’ve got some substantial evidence that proves it possible. Check out their post about it here, and tell us what you think!

Target leaks point to Shadow of Mordor sequel: “Middle Earth: Shadow of War”

Shadow of Mordor was a pretty good game, if not a bit lacking in the second half. With its Nemesis system, everyone had a slightly different story to tell about the game. Luckily, it looks like later this year we’ll see more Middle Earth.

We don’t know much yet, but we’ve got a good look at the boxart, as well as the gold edition’s contents. From the Target website, which no longer lists the title:

Experience an epic open-world brought to life by the award-winning Nemesis System. Forge a new Ring of Power, conquer Fortresses in massive battles and dominate Mordor with your personal Orc army in Middle-earth™: Shadow of War™.

Go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses and dominate Mordor from within. Experience how the award winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths in this epic new story of Middle-earth.

In Middle-earth™: Shadow of War™, nothing will be forgotten.

Gold Edition includes:
• Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion
• Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion
• The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion
• The Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion
• Gold War Chest
• Over $125 in total value

Nemesis Expansions include a new Orc Tribe featuring new enemies, followers, missions, abilities, weapons, Fortress and wilderness updates, and a Mythic Gear Set.

Story Expansions introduce a new campaign, playable character & abilities, side missions, enemies, allies & more.

Personally, I’m pretty excited to return to Middle Earth.

Microsoft apparently bringing “Game mode” To Windows PCs, works similar to Xbox One hardware.

According to Windows Central;

“Microsoft is working on a brand new “Game Mode” feature for Windows 10 that will enhance the PC gaming experience by minimizing resources used by running apps to almost nothing and allocating freed up resources to the game, making it run faster, better and smoother overall.”

While the details are currently scarce, Windows Central goes on to say that their sources state that it will “works similarly to how Xbox One handles running a game. Xbox OS, when a game is launched, will allocate resources to make sure the game is running the best it possibly can.” Meaning that the system will allocate resources specifically to playing games. A weird statement, and more confusing than anything else. I would love to see Microsoft comment on this soon.

Tiny Galaxy dev hopefully working on Primal Rage?

Taylor Hajash just revealed that a small team including himself are looking to find the rights owners to the classic Primal Rage series. As revealed on his Twitter, the team has already created high-poly models, remastered the soundtrack and concepting new playable characters alongside other things. While this all sounds wonderful, the team can’t identify who to contact about the series.

While this is all just being announced, hopefully we’ll have more to show you soon!
If you have any info on who currently owns the rights to Primal Rage, please let @ArcanePixel on Twitter know!

Does Nintendo’s E3 Preview Video hide a secret hint towards a new Punch-Out?

CE0FvtvWYAAXGS8So everybody saw Reggie’s pink jumpsuit and speculated that there would be a new Punch-Out based on that, but NeoGaf user Huelen10 found another possible hint. It all started with a comment:

Guys… would you call me insane if I told you that the music played backwards is the match won theme in Punch out Wii slowed down in reverse? Trying to confirm right now…

It sounds like a stretch, but then Huelen posted a sound clip, and it feels like way too much of a coincidence to just be nothing. Listen to the sound clip below. The edited bit is first, followed by the theme from Punch-Out.

What do you think? Weird coincidence, or hidden hint? Let us know in the comments! Thanks Huelen10 for letting us share this!
