Nintendo Transforms Iconic Franchises to Give Players Unique Gaming Experiences

Some saw Nintendo’s E3 showing as a disappointment, I personally thought it was crazy. With a total of SEVEN newly announced titles, and showing EIGHT titles we had previously known about, there’s tons of games to look forward to if you’re a Nintendo fan.

LOS ANGELES, June 16, 2015 – This year Mario reaches an impressive milestone in video gaming: 30 years as a leading man in Nintendo’s timeless  Super Mario Bros. series. At E3, Nintendo celebrates Mario’s longevity with a new installment in the franchise called  Super Mario Maker, one of many games at the show that transforms familiar characters and their games with unique new looks, styles and game-play features. Players will see new installments of beloved franchises like Star FoxYoshiAnimal CrossingMario & LuigiXenoblade and  Metroid, and enjoy the reimagining of Bowser and Donkey Kong as Skylanders figures that also have amiibo functionality with compatible Nintendo games.

During the  Nintendo Digital Event video on the opening day of E3 2015 in Los Angeles, Nintendo announced games launching in the near future, with a focus on what fans can enjoy in the second half of 2015 and early 2016. Nintendo World Championships 2015 Crowns John Goldberg from Queens, New York as Winner!

Returning after a 25-year hiatus, the Nintendo World Championships 2015 concluded tonight in Los Angeles with a new world champion: John “John Numbers” Goldberg of Queens, New York. Goldberg defeated Cosmo Wright in a tense final round playing the upcoming Super Mario Maker game for the Wii U console. The new champion emerged victorious after a multi-round competition in games from Nintendo’s past, present and future, including The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Metroid for the Super NES as well as Splatoon, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Mario Kart 8 for Wii U, in front of a live crowd of thousands and even more fans watching around the world online.

The intense competition consisted of 16 Nintendo fans, eight pre-selected by Nintendo and eight advancing from qualifying rounds held across the nation on May 30. After winning the final round, Goldberg was presented his trophy by Nintendo developer Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of the Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong series, among others.

REDMOND, Wash., June 14, 2015 – During a special video presentation focused on Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, the game’s director, Masahiro Sakurai, unveiled a smashing amount of new content for the games, including two new playable characters: Ryu from the Street Fighter® series and Roy from Fire Emblem. They both join Lucas from Mother 3 as new playable fighters, and are available for download now! This additional paid content lands alongside a major software update that launched today for both systems, which also includes three new stages and many new costumes for Mii Fighters, including outfits from classic fighting series Virtua Fighter and Tekken. In a new video featuring actor Christopher Lloyd reprising his famous role as Doc Brown from the Back to the Future films, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment revealed today gameplay featuring even more beloved characters coming to LEGODimensions, the upcoming entertainment experience that merges physical LEGO brick building with interactive console gameplay. Nintendo of America Hires Bowser as New VP of Sales

It may sound like a weird joke, but the facts are there. Nintendo has hired Doug Bowser as the vice president of sales. Trust me, the internet is having a riot with this.

He will play a key role in driving national sales strategies to generate demand and achieve revenue objectives across all of Nintendo’s product lines. Does Nintendo’s E3 Preview Video hide a secret hint towards a new Punch-Out?

CE0FvtvWYAAXGS8So everybody saw Reggie’s pink jumpsuit and speculated that there would be a new Punch-Out based on that, but NeoGaf user Huelen10 found another possible hint. It all started with a comment:

Guys… would you call me insane if I told you that the music played backwards is the match won theme in Punch out Wii slowed down in reverse? Trying to confirm right now…

It sounds like a stretch, but then Huelen posted a sound clip, and it feels like way too much of a coincidence to just be nothing. Listen to the sound clip below. The edited bit is first, followed by the theme from Punch-Out.
