Star Wars Battlefront II coming later this year!

Now that’s out of the way. It seems EA has learned their mistakes with the first Battlefront deciding to introduce a single player story in the sequel. There’s not a ton of information out right now, but what we know is:

Live the untold Star Wars story of Iden, an elite Stormtrooper, in an original single-player story. Battle on land and in space in an expanded multiplayer experience with iconic heroes and villains, thrilling space battles, and a deep progression and customization system. Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17th.

Just give me dogfights and I’m game.

Ashley Johnson & Troy Baker in Studio for The Last of Us Part II.

Looks like development of The Last of Us Part II is coming along nicely. Ashley Johnson, voice of Ellie,  posted this picture today of what looks like facial tracking for voice dub.

I dunno about you guys, but I absolutely can’t wait to see more of The Last of Us, so even the smallest bit of news is amazing.

Nintendo’s HackerOne program extended to Switch, paying hackers.

Are you a hacker looking for vulnerabilities on the Nintendo Switch? Work with Nintendo and you could net some cold hard cash. Our friends over at NintendoEverything described it perfectly,

In December of last year, Nintendo announced that it teamed up with HackerOne in order to find security flaws and vulnerabilities concerning the 3DS. Anyone can submit a report detailing such flaws, and if Nintendo deems it significant enough, they will pay the person who submitted the report a bounty ranging from $100 to $20,000, depending on various factors.

Last month, Nintendo extended this deal to include Switch security flaws, specifically the following:

  • System vulnerabilities regarding Nintendo Switch
    • Privilege escalation from userland
    • Kernel takeover
    • ARM® TrustZone® takeover
  • Vulnerabilities regarding Nintendo-published applications for Nintendo Switch
    • Userland takeover

It seems like the program is working, since today Nintendo has rewarded three people with a bounty (the sum was not disclosed).

Seems Nintendo is serious about fighting piracy on the Switch, which only means good things.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild receives patch that reportedly removes many framerate drops.

While the official patch notes are sparse, Nintendo has pushed a patch to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild today that many users are reporting has increased framerate in troubled places. The official patch notes are below, but after a bit of testing, it seems that issues are a bit better, if not completely fixed in various areas. This is following another patch earlier in the month that did similarly.

Hidetaka Miyazaki of Dark Souls III not concerned with resembling Dark Souls.

Coming from Weekly Famitsu magazine, Dark Souls III director isn’t concerned with making something that resembles Dark Souls. While I know many love the series, I can’t help but wonder what other ideas he could have brewing. I’ve attached a tidbit from Famitsu (Thanks Gematsu for translating!)
What sort of game would you like to see the director of Dark Souls work on?

With the second expansion released, that means that the series is complete.

Miyazaki: “As I’ve said from the beginning, there are no further developments planned at the moment, at least.”

Where you able to do everything you wanted to do?

Miyazaki: “I can’t really say that I was able to do everything. As is the case with all of the games I’ve directed, each entry in the Dark Souls series has its own problems, and I carry those blunders. However, I think that even on this premise, Dark Souls was a happy series.”

What kind of game would you like to develop in the future?

Miyazaki: “Since I’ve already started work on several, it would be a spoiler if I said something. One thing I can say is that our stance on game production has not changed. In making a new game, we’re not being conscious of making something that resembles Dark Souls, or on the other hand of making something that doesn’t resemble Dark Souls. Not being concerned about whether it is similar to Dark Souls, I plan on making a game that I want to make now, and that is interesting and worthwhile.”

Atlus USA shows off Persona 5’s “Take Your Heart” edition, and we can’t stop drooling.

We absolutely cannot wait for Persona 5. The entire team loves the series and the wait for the newest title has been painful to say the least. That said, with less than two weeks to go Atlus has uploaded a new video with their PR head William and marketing team member Lauren showing off just what lies inside the collector’s edition of the game.

April 4th can’t get here fast enough.

Check out the footage below, and let us know what you expect from Sonic Forces! 18
